Project 01 ## Full Loft Boarding + 270mm Insulation Top-Up Location: Solihull, B91, 1970s detached Duration: 2 days [Loft Boarding](/services/loft-boarding)[Loft Insulation](/services/loft-insulation)[Raised Boarding Systems](/services/raised-boarding-systems) Before Original 100mm insulation laid badly between joists, exposed timber walkway down the centre, no usable storage. Heat loss measurable from upstairs landing, radiators ran constantly to compensate. After Raised sub-frame installed across full loft area, 270mm mineral wool topped beneath, 18mm structural-grade chipboard floor with central walkway. Customer reported a 19% drop in winter gas usage by month two. Outcome 32m² of usable, fully insulated storage. Heat retention restored to current Building Regs standard. Project 02 ## Insulated Loft Hatch + Aluminium Ladder Replacement Location: Sutton Coldfield, B73, Edwardian semi Duration: Half day [Loft Ladders & Hatches](/services/loft-ladders-hatches) Before Original push-up plywood hatch with no seal, leaking heat directly into the loft. Old timber ladder rotting at the base, unsafe to climb with anything in hand. After Fire-rated insulated hatch with full perimeter draught seal, plus a sturdy 3-section aluminium ladder rated to 150kg. Whole job completed before lunch with zero plaster damage. Outcome Compliant, draught-proof access. Landing now noticeably warmer in winter. Project 03 ## Foil Loft Lining Install Location: Shirley, B90, 1990s detached Duration: 1 day [Foil Loft Lining](/services/foil-loft-lining) Before Persistent winter condensation on chipboard floor and underside of roof felt. Cold, damp, musty loft when hatch was opened. After Reflective foil lining fixed across full rafter span, clean, bright reflective surface from hatch to eaves. Outcome Cleaner, brighter, drier loft, and noticeably warmer overhead in winter. After Custom-zoned storage with shelving along the eaves, partitioned Christmas-decoration area, and 4 LED panels wired to a switch at the hatch. Walkway boarded with marine-grade chipboard. Outcome Loft transformed from unusable to fully functional storage zone, customer recovered an entire spare bedroom previously used for boxes. After Full clearance and removal of old insulation, replaced with 270mm mineral wool, raised boarding installed across half the loft area. Outcome Clean, insulated, usable loft, handed back ready to use the same week. Project 06 ## Raised Boarding Over Existing Deep Insulation Location: Stratford-upon-Avon, CV37, New-build (2019) Duration: 1 day [Raised Boarding Systems](/services/raised-boarding-systems)[Loft Boarding](/services/loft-boarding) Before Existing 270mm insulation correctly installed by builder, but no usable floor: boards laid directly would have crushed insulation and reduced thermal performance by up to 50%.
